OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY

Safety means working safely and going home to our families every night. We look at safety as much more than a set of rules or processes, but as the foundation to the work that we do. We instill our safety program in such a way that it becomes second nature that everyone knows that they have a right to work safely. We are very fortunate to provide in-depth safety training for every technician that we bring on staff. All of our techs are equipped with top of the line PPE and are annually re-certified.

Here at ProTelecom, we consider the safety of our employees and customers to be our number one priority. With this in mind, we have constructed and implemented a strong safety culture among our technicians that we are immensely proud of. Every workplace that a ProTelecom technician sets foot upon is considered a risk area, and is duly treated in such a way. We are of the strong belief that there should be no uncertainty with regard to safety precautions and safety measures among ProTelecom employees, and extensive measures are undertaken in an attempt to ensure this.

POLICY

It is the policy of ProTelecom to perform our work in the safest manner possible and we assert that every employee has the right to work in a safe and healthy environment. To achieve this, every reasonable precaution is taken to provide such an environment. This is done to eliminate the risk of harm to our employees and customers.

SAFETY GUIDELINES

ProTelecom has its own health and safety policy in place and it is considered imperative that these measures are strictly understood and adhered to by all employees.

Any unsafe working conditions or hazards must be reported immediately and all reported hazards must be investigated immediately. Corrective action will then be taken to ameliorate the risk of any reported hazard to technicians in the future.

All technicians are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner when working for ProTelecom. Technicians are encouraged to perform their work with a safety-first attitude and should report any inappropriate or unprofessional conduct that could result in an accident to a supervisor.

All new technicians are obliged to complete a safety orientation course before they begin their training to ensure that they understand and comply with the contents of the company’s safety policy and reference manual.

All employees are required to obtain the necessary personal protective equipment before the commencement of work. Approved hard hats and safety hard-toe boots must be worn by all technicians at all times when completing a job for ProTelecom.

Any unsafe tools or equipment, or any necessary utensil that does not meet the standards that are set out in ProTelecom’s health and safety guidelines, should be reported immediately to a supervisor and should not be utilized on a site.

All employees of ProTelecom are trained in all necessary safety fields, for example ladder safety, the proper use of ladders, appropriate workplace conduct and working in confined spaces.

Employees should use appropriate lifting techniques when handling materials on a job and should be aware of their own physical limitations in terms of handling heavy objects.

All necessary tools, materials and equipments used should be stored and moved in a manner that does not endanger technicians in any way.

6

Right To Refuse To Work

All ProTelecom employees have the right to refuse to work if they feel that they or a colleague are being exposed to a hazardous environment or an inappropriately dangerous scenario.
